What is Overland Pioneers?

Jeremiah Oschwald

DP/Drone Cinematographer

For the last 5 years, we have been traveling and creating content for the sole purpose of showing how beautiful our world is from the driver's seat of our vehicle. Overlanding by definition is about the journey, not the destination. As cliche as that is, we have found it’s truly about the small Americana backroads and towns, the people we meet, the amazing hidden camp spots, and the gear we get to abuse. Jeremiah and his crew take the viewer on a cinematograph masterpiece in this new series to places and remote areas most humans may never see. Sit back and enjoy the ride on this new POWERtube TV series.

What is and who are Overlanders

In a world dominated by speed and convenience, where technology reigns supreme, there exists a realm of intrepid explorers who seek a different kind of travel experience. They choose the road less traveled, embracing the challenges and immersing themselves in the raw beauty of nature. Welcome to the world of Overlanding, where adventure knows no bounds.

Overlanding is not merely a form of travel, it is a way of life—a spirit of adventure that ignites the flame of exploration within us. It beckons us to escape the confines of everyday routines and embark on an epic journey of self-discovery. It is a unique blend of freedom, self-reliance, and a connection to the natural world.

The Call of the Wild:

Picture yourself traversing rugged mountain passes, forging through dense jungles, and navigating across sprawling deserts. Overlanding offers a gateway to remote and untouched landscapes that are inaccessible by traditional means. It allows us to witness the true majesty of our planet, from the sweeping Savannahs of Africa, to the towering peaks of the Andes.

The vehicles of choice for overlanders are robust and purpose-built. Equipped with 4x4 capabilities, these off-road warriors are ready to conquer challenging terrains. Overlanders meticulously outfit their vehicles with essential gear such as rooftop tents, portable kitchens, and ample storage for provisions. They become self-sufficient, carrying their own fuel, water, and supplies, ready to tackle whatever lies ahead.

Journey, not Destination:

The true essence of Overlanding lies in the journey itself. It's about embracing the unexpected and relishing in the thrill of the unknown. Unlike conventional travel, Overlanding encourages us to slow down, immerse ourselves in the wonders of nature, and connect with the local cultures we encounter along the way. It's the joy of waking up to breathtaking vistas, the camaraderie forged around a campfire, and the tales shared among fellow adventurers.

Overlanding is not without its challenges. It demands resourcefulness, adaptability, and a willingness to overcome obstacles. From mechanical breakdowns to navigating treacherous terrain, every hurdle is an opportunity for growth and resilience. The rewards, however, are immeasurable. Witnessing a stunning sunset over a pristine wilderness, camping under a blanket of stars, and encountering wildlife in its natural habitat are experiences that leave an indelible mark on the soul.

Overlanders have a responsibility to tread lightly on the earth. It is crucial to practice sustainable travel, respecting the delicate ecosystems we encounter and leaving no trace behind. Through responsible Overlanding, we contribute to the preservation of these remarkable landscapes, ensuring that future generations can also revel in their splendor.

Overlanding is an invitation to step out of our comfort zones, trade the familiar for the unknown, and embark on a transformative adventure. It allows us to rediscover our sense of wonder, reconnect with the natural world, and forge lasting memories. So, if you yearn for the road less traveled, grab a map, pack your essentials, and let the spirit of Overlanding guide you toward a life-changing experience—one where the journey becomes the destination.
